“This work is about transformation – from the person we think we are to the person we really are.”
– Marion Rosen, Founder of the Rosen Method

John F Kennedy University

Rosen Method is a holistic approach to deep body-mind-spirit exploration.  Both aspects of Rosen Method, bodywork and movement, invite you to reconnect and become more aware of body sensations and emotions.  By learning to listen deeply to your body, you can give space and voice to what is held within.  Awareness of your body in the present moment can allow unconscious feelings, attitudes and beliefs to shift.  This leads to deeper connection with authenticity and vitality, and often releases both physical and emotional pain.  Rosen is a great complement to other therapeutic modalities and psycho-spiritual disciplines.

Participants will learn how to exchange non-intrusive, hands-on bodywork and learn flexibility exercises that invite the relaxation of tension and the dismantling of body armoring. Participants will also gain an understanding of posture and breathing patterns that can bring insights into observations and communications.

Patricia Angelina and Theresa Garcia invite you to join them at JFK University for a weekend of exploration into the wisdom of the body.

Instructors:

Patricia Angelina is a Rosen Method Bodywork Practitioner and Movement Teacher as well as a Certified Massage Therapist. She has been in private practice since 1990. She has also practiced a broad range of services from birth doula to grief counselor. She produced and directed an educational DVD, “Talk About Rosen” to enhance the curriculum in Rosen Method studies.

Theresa Garcia practices Rosen Method Bodywork and Movement based on human anatomy and how the body is meant to function. Using sensitive, respectful, and transformative touch, she helps clients connect to, and come to terms with, the unconscious attitudes and beliefs held in chronic muscle tension. Relaxation, awareness and ease often resolve physical and emotional pain, and reawaken the innate integrity, aliveness, and balance of the body/mind. Theresa is a Senior Teacher of Rosen Method Bodywork and Movement, and has been a student of the Alexander Technique since 2001. She has been teaching Rosen Method Movement since 1998, and has directed the Movement training program at Rosen Method: the Berkeley Center since 2006. She has been in private practice since 2000, with offices in San Francisco and Los Altos.
